Exemption - USA - Georgia's Governor suspends diesel tax
USA -eTrucker, by Lance Orr -7 Sept 2005: -- Gov. Sonny Perdue announced Sept. 2 that Georgia consumers would be exempt from the state motor fuel tax through the end of the month... The temporary halt of state collection of all motor fuel taxes went into effect midnight Sept. 3... "My purpose in temporarily suspending fuel tax collection is to relieve some of the financial burden placed on Georgians by disruptions of our fuel supply resulting from the effects of Hurricane Katrina,” Perdue said...
