-- When Leonard’s Express wsolidaas asked to help bring bottled water to Flint, Michigan, CEO Ken Johnson said the trucking company was glad to pitch in... Tens of thousands are suffering due to the lead-contamination crisis in Flint. The city's tap water is contaminated with lead because the city for 18 months used water from the Flint River without reducing corrosiveness. The water leached lead from old home plumbing. If consumed, lead can cause developmental delays and learning disabilities in children... The packaged water will be transported on one of Leonard’s big trucks — most likely a 53-foot semi tractor-trailer... The trip from the Rochester Foodlink site to the Michigan city is 480 miles and will likely be an overnight trip. If the driver has an enhanced license the trip may go through Canada; otherwise, it will go through Ohio and stay in the States...
