GREEN TAX for TRUCKS * India

* Delhi: 20% dip in trucks entering on
-- The Supreme Court's order imposing a steep pollution tax on trucks has resulted in a 19-20% reduction in the number of commercial vehicles entering the city and a 35% drop in particulate matter load from trucks, the Environment Pollution Control Authority said in its status report filed in the court on Thursday... The move, imposed in October 2015, has also led to a 31% reduction in oxides of nitrogen ( NOx) pollution from trucks and other commercial vehicles, EPCA said in its report based on a survey commissioned by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE)...
