* Oregon - Daimler recalls some Freightliner Cascadia trucks for CNG fix
-- Daimler Trucks North America said it is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Freightliner Cascadia trucks that were manufactured between March 27, 2015 and Nov. 4, 2014, and are powered by compressed natural gas (CNG)... The affected vehicles have a tailpipe that allows hot exhaust to exit near the CNG tank pressure relief device. Hot exhaust may cause the CNG to be unexpectedly released from the tank, and discharge of CNG in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire... There have been 48 recalls on Cascadia vehicles in recent years. Since 2004, Cascadia’s have experienced approximately 57 recalls due to hazards with various components, including the engine, fifth-wheel assembly, manual transmission, idler and attachment and electrical system...
