TRUCKERS CONTROLLED * Australia: By Police discretion

* South Australia: New road laws will give police the discretion to let employers know if their truck drivers are caught for traffic offences

-- Employers of truck drivers who speed or drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol will now be informed of the breaches under new laws that have come into force in South Australia... South Australia is the first state to give police the discretion to notify either a heavy vehicle operator or a registered owner if a driver commits a serious traffic offence... The new laws will also give South Australian police the power to notify employers if a driver is pinged for reckless and dangerous driving, driving while disqualified or unlicensed, driving without due care or if a driver refuses or fails to comply with a drug or alcohol screening test...
