* Michigan - Ford revs up discounts to lift sagging F-150 sales
-- The latest struggle to emerge for Ford with the launch of its new F-150 is in the public relations department with news breaking that incentives of up to $10,000 are being offered on the new truck. Ford officials have blamed tight supplies for the sales droop, but analysts aren’t so sure. It’s a strategy created to help Ford regain lost market share and help with adoption of the new model... There’s little doubt the F-150 is taking the brunt of the sales hit for Ford lately, as it completely rebuilt two huge F-150 plants to accommodate the new construction and manufacturing processes needed for the first fully aluminized half-ton pickup truck... The discounts are however, not specific to the new truck only... It is even true that, in the right part of the country, with the right combination of options, one can “build” a pickup on Ford’s website that will have a discount that breaks $10,000... The real development to watch is to see whether Ford moves out the incentives from being regional to nationwide...

* Michigan - Ford unveils F-150 Limited, most luxurious Ford truck ever
-- Ford has the best selling vehicle in the country with its F-150 truck and it has been the top seller for many years. More and more people around the country are looking to trucks rather than luxury cars and trucks have begun to offer the sort of features previously only found in a luxury car. Ford has announced a new version of the F-150 called the F-150 Limited and it is the most luxurious F-150 ever made according to Ford. Limited trucks get 22-inch wheels of polished aluminum, Limited lettering on the hood, a unique grille, and satin-finished chrome badge on the tailgate. The front bumper on Limited models is chrome with two body color moldings... Buyers of Limited edition trucks will get to choose from four colors with Shadow Black, Magnetic, Blue Jeans, and White Platinum Metallic tri-coat. The truck will come with BLIS with cross-traffic alert, chrome front tow hooks on 4x4 versions, panoramic vista roof, power deployable running boards, quad-beam LED headlamps, remote start, and remote tailgate release. Integrated brake controller will come standard along with a lane keeping system, trailer hitch assist, and 360-degree camera system...
