* Germany - Trucking division to have new headquarters

-- The Volkswagen Group, long in the making with their consolidated trucking unit, has planned to set up the new division closer to its Wolfsburg home-city base in Germany... VW AG decided to gather its controlling stakes in truck makers MAN and Scania into a worldwide heavy goods vehicle business, named Truck & Bus GmbH. The newly established operation will have its headquarters in Brunswick, about 25 kilometers (16 miles) southwest of VW’s own headquarters in Wolfsburg and will initially employ around 50 persons... This has been a hard year for the German company, with sales of its namesake Volkswagen brand falling for eight out of the past nine months as the brand is also implementing a cost cutting strategy. Additionally, for the first time in years last month the group as a whole registered a negative performance on the Chinese market, the world’s biggest, as the economy contracted and the stock market’s troubled stance put a damper on consumer spending...
