* New York - Cars and trucks stuck on Thruway for 16 hours and counting

Albany,NY,USA -The Buffalo News, by Barbara O’Brien/Maki Becker/Tom Precious -18 Nov 2014: -- About 150 trucks and cars were stuck on the Thruway throughout the day Tuesday, mostly near the Lackawanna toll barrier, as the relentless storm pummeled South Buffalo and the Southtowns with foot upon foot of snow... Thruway officials said they hoped to have the roughly 75 cars freed by late Tuesday night but it would take longer to shovel out the trucks... Officials said food, water and fuel were delivered by a variety of means to stranded motorists by Thruway employees, state police and Department of Environmental Conservation personnel...


* Oklahoma - Winter weather keeps Tulsa tow trucks busy

Tulsa,OKLA.USA -FOX23, by Farron Salley -Nov. 16, 2014: -- Storey Wrecker drivers went from one scene to the next Sunday. Their downtown Tulsa headquarters flooded with calls for most of the day... Accidents were spread across the map but Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. George Brown told FOX23 that troopers responded to the most accidents on I-244... Despite the wrecks, FOX23 spoke with some drivers who said they think defensively when there’s snow, sleet or anything potentially hazardous on the road... Drivers with Storey Wrecker said that with the possibility of roads refreezing overnight, they’ll have more drivers on standby in case more people need help...
