* Sweden - New Scania truck brings fresh yields

A Netherlands-based, refrigerated transport services company is making substantial savings in fuel costs after investing in Scania Euro 6 trucks... Due to their large volume of freight transport to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the environmental restrictions on emissions and tax benefits in these countries, the company decided to opt for Scania Euro 6 trucks... “Our experience has been extremely positive; the trucks’ fuel consumption in particular has been a pleasant surprise,” says Director Frans Cremer. “It’s even better than we’d expected. The Scania Euro 6 trucks save us 2 litres per 100 kilometres, which means EUR 3,500 per truck per year” ...  

* Sweden - New 450 hp engine with SCR only 

Söderjdale,Sweden -Scania PR -3 June 2014: -- Scania is now introducing a 13-litre inline 6-cylinder engine with 450 horsepower that only requires SCR aftertreatment to meet Euro 6. This solution offers reduced complexity and lower diesel con¬sumption for most driving situations, whether for long-haulage or other applications... "Our success with the 410 hp version of the 13-litre engine with only SCR has spurred us to go further down the road to reduce both complexity and diesel consumption,” says Joel Granath, Head of Product Management for Scania trucks. “Our customers now have a range of 18 different models of Euro 6 engines to choose from. This gives them unique opportunities to tailor their powertrains for optimal performance, regardless of driving conditions or application” ...


* UK - New FM’s mark a clean Seep for Volvo

Stockholm,Sweden -Volvo Trucks PR - -27 May 2014: -- The arrival of three new Euro-6 6x2 FM rigids to replace Schmolz + Bickenbach (UK) Ltd’s entire fleet marks a change in direction for the company... The 26 tonne GVW, Globetrotter-cabbed trucks were specified with Volvo’s Euro-6 compliant, 11 litre engine rated at 330hp. Wheelbase is 6 metres and all are fitted with rear air suspension... The new series Volvo FMs will be making deliveries of stainless steel product for the Birmingham-based company, which is part of the distribution network for the global Schmolz + Bickenbach Group. Ranging from the South Coast to the North East and from South Wales to East Anglia, the trucks will each cover up to 100,000 kilometres each year...
* Italy - Iveco launches light truck to rival Mercedes

Venaria Reale,Italy -AP/Independent Record -3 June 2014: -- Italian truckmaker Iveco has invested 500 million euros to redesign its flagship small truck for Europe, aiming to catch the upswing in the European truck market and seeking to rival market-leader Mercedes... Iveco accounts for 30 percent of revenues at parent CNH Industrial, formerly Fiat Industrial, which is counting on its truck business to offset an expected slowdown of farm vehicle sales... Iveco produced 51,000 Daily trucks in Europe last year and another 14,000 in Latin America, representing more than half of its total production. Iveco has sold 2.6 million Daily vehicles since 1978...
