Vancouver,BC,CAN -By Go By Truck News -May 26, 2014: -- Nearly two months after container truckers on strike at Port Metro Vancouver returned to work, mediator Vincent Ready has released his recommendations for wait time payments... To that end, Ready provided a formula for wait time payments along with several requirements for the port terminals and trucking companies. Starting May 28, all per trip drivers will be paid for wait time exceeding 90 minutes. The first payment, at 90 minutes, is $50. After that, drivers get paid every 30 minutes. At two hours and two-and-a-half hours, drivers receive $25. For every thirty-minute period exceeding two-and-a-half hours, the drivers receive $20. Ready stipulated that while terminals will send the payments to trucking companies, the companies will be required to pass them on to the effected drivers...
