* Russia - U.S truck maker looks to expand sales in

Moscow,Russia -The Moscow Times, by Anatoly Medetsky -13 September 2013: -- U.S.-based company International Trucks is resuming sales of its brand new commercial vehicles in Russia despite a lull in demand on the Russian market... Some of the ProStar trucks are already on their way to Russia and are already roadworthy, said Elissa Mauer, a spokeswoman for Navistar International Corporation. She declined to name the number of trucks that International expects to export to Russia annually... The company has supplied Russia with used trucks for the past five years through a dealer network in the country, selling 200 units last year alone... A semi-knock down kit assembly line for International operated at a plant near St. Petersburg before shutting down in 2007, Mauer said...
* Australia - TRUCKS RECALL: For MAN buses and trucks

Canberra,ACT,Australia-ATN -September 12, 2013 : -- A recall has been issued on 30 MAN buses, coaches and trucks over a cylinder head cover... A notice from Product Recalls Australia says there is a potential problem with 30 vehicles... “Oil may emerge from the cylinder head cover in the event of engine damage,” says the notice. “In the worst case scenario, this could cause a fire hazard if leaking oil comes into contact with parts of the exhaust system” ... The notice says a letter is being sent to affected owners, and that inspection and rectification will be carried out free of charge...

But it has already got the industry curious about one of the two products it forayed into India with early this year: its pick-up truck... D-Max, the pick-up truck Isuzu launched in February, comes to a country that has been lukewarm to this genre of commercial vehicles... Their volumes are small... It is into this setting that Isuzu's D-Max has made an entry. And how does it plan to make an impact? By making pick-up trucks an owner-driven category in India. That's not something industry leaders Tatas or Mahindras have managed...
