* DC - Mitsubishi Fuso recalls nearly 15,000 trucks over fire concerns 


Washington,DC,USA -Associated Press/The Detroit News -November 30, 2012: -- Mitsubishi Fuso is recalling nearly 15,000 small commercial trucks because the fuel lines can crack, leak gasoline and cause a fire... Affected models include the FE83DFE84D, FE85D and FG84D from the 2005 through 2007 model years. The trucks were sold in the U.S. and Canada... No accidents or injuries have been reported from the problem, the Japanese truck and bus maker said in documents posted Friday on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website. But the company's American operations received 25 warranty service claims because of the fuel lines... The company traced the cause of the problem to improper manufacturing. Tests also found that some nuts holding the fuel lines may not have been tightened enough...


* USA - 2001-2004 Toyota Tacoma Pickups Recalled In Cold Weather States

The Car Connection, by Suzanne Kane -Nov 27, 2012: -- Toyota is conducting a safety recall of certain 2001 through 2004 Tacoma pickups in cold-weather states over concerns that rust in the spare tire carrier assembly may cause the tire to come loose while driving... A bulletin posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website puts the number of vehicles potentially affected at about 150,000 vehicles. Affected vehicles were built from August 28, 2000 through August 27, 2004... The recall involves 2001-2004 model-year Tacoma pickup trucks originally sold in or currently registered in 20 states and the District of Columbia where road salt used on streets in cold weather may result in extreme corrosion on certain truck parts...
