* Victoria - Report: Truck woes still remain

Melbourne,VIC,Australia -Maribyrnong Leader, by James Twining -13 Nov, 2012: -- There will be no short-term relief from trucks for residents in Melbourne's inner west... A Committee set up to review the effectiveness of truck curfews in the inner west will present its findings next month... The Truck Curfew Review Committee, chaired by Maribyrnong Council and includes VicRoads and community representatives, will make recommendations on ways to lessen the effect of trucks in neighbourhood areas... The high volume of truck traffic and drivers ignoring curfews remain the biggest problem on Maribyrnong's roads... A Truck Action Plan to separate trucks from residential areas was put on indefinite hold by the state government... The government said it would consider the plan as part of the East-West Link, which is yet to be funded and remains in the planning stage...
