* New Jersey - BMW Recalls 2005-2007 7-Series To Fix Software Glitch

Woodcliff Lake,NJ,USA -The Car Connection, by Suzanne Kane -Oct 25, 2012: -- BMW is conducting a voluntary recall of certain 2005 through 2007 7-Series sedans to fix a software problem that may allow the doors to open, even when they appear to be closed... A notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website puts the number of vehicles potentially affected at 7,485...  The problem: “Due to a software problem, the doors appear to be closed and latched, but, in fact, may inadvertently open.” This may occur “due to road or driving conditions or occupant contact with the door” ... The BMW safety recall is expected to begin in November 2012...
