Chennai,India -The Times of India, by Nandini Sen Gupta -Sep 3, 2012: -- For the fifth month in a row truck sales in the 5 tonne - 49 tonne range registered a sharp drop as rentals continued to drop on trunk routes. Truck sales dipped 13.25% in August as rentals saw a 3%-4% drop across the board on trunk routes on the back of 9%-11% drop in rentals during April - July 2012 said an Indian Foundation of Transport Research and Training (IFTRT) report...
* India - Tata Motors expects revival in demand for heavy trucks
Mumbai,Maharashtra,India -Rediff business -September 4, 2012: -- Tata Motors' commercial vehicles segment, which contributes more than half of the company's stand-alone profits and is the biggest truck maker in the country, on Monday said it has seen a slight revival in demand for heavy trucks and hopes for the trend to continue in the festive period... In June, Tata Motors was forced to shut down its manufacturing unit for heavy trucks in Jamshedpur for three days due to lack of demand...
