* Sweden - Volvo's $1.7 billion truck rolls into clouded European market

Gothenburg,Sweden -Reuters/News Daily, by Niklas Pollard and Helena Soderpalm -6 Sept 2012: -- World No.2 truck maker Volvo launched its first all-new vehicle in 20 years on Thursday, hoping that better fuel economy, a roomier cab and improved handling will spur demand in an ailing European market and justify its biggest ever trucks investment... The truck industry is extremely sensitive to the economic climate and fluctuations in international trade, so the Swedish company's new launch comes at a critical time for its top market, which is clouded by enormous uncertainty amid the European debt crisis... Volvo, was showcasing its new Volvo-branded FH trucks, the fruit of 11.5 billion Swedish crowns ($1.7 billion) of investment and five years of development...
* Brazil - Anfavea: Government Studying Easing Terms of Truck Financing

Lewis, and Paulo Winterstein -Sep 5, 2012: -- Brazil's Finance Ministry is studying ways to boost truck sales after tighter emissions standards led to a plunge in output and sales, automaker association Anfavea said Wednesday... The government is studying easing financing terms for heavy trucks to promote sales, said Anfavea President, Cledorvino Belini... Brazil tightened emissions standards on trucks at the start of this year, which led to a 17% plunge in sales of trucks during the first seven months of this year, according to Anfavea. As a result of the drop in demand, truck output was down 39% through July, dragging down Brazil's industrial production and leading some companies to furlough workers... Mr. Belini was also in Brasilia to ask Mr. Mantega (Brazil's Finance Ministry), to extend a tax cut on car sales. After weaker Brazil growth led to declining car sales, the government slashed the so-called IPI tax on cars in May. But the measure is set to expire at the end of this month, and industry analysts say that if the tax cut isn't extended, sales could end 2012 with no growth...

The new site gets a new vehicle from Iveco cab strongly inspired by that of the Stralis. The new Trakker will be powered by engines of 9 or 13 liter Euro 5 FPT to the Euro 6 standard legal force. The Astra brand, also owned by Iveco, will not be forgotten, because there will be a new version of model HD9 be presented at the stand. This vehicle has been designed for heavy work in quarries or sand quarries...

* India - AMW to launch new range of premium trucks by year-end

Bhuj,Gujarat,India -The Economic Times, by Anirudh Bhuwalka -Sep 6, 2012: -- Commercial vehicles maker AMW today said it plans to launch a new range of premium trucks by the end of this year targeting segments like construction and mining to drive up sales in a sluggish market... AMW Managing Director and CEO Anirudh Bhuwalka, speaking on the sidelines of the annual convention of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) here, he said the company had launched 11 truck models last year... The new trucks will come with higher horse power and better drivelines, he added, but did not disclose price range. Bhuwalka said the new range would complement the company's existing range, making it a full range player. The entire range of truck will be produced at the company's Bhuj facility. According to him currently the market for premier trucks in the country is around 2,000 trucks per annum. When asked about sales growth, AMW had posted a growth of 60 per cent last fiscal and sold around 10,000 trucks...
