Oshkosh,WI,USA -The Wall Street Journal -July 19, 2012: -- Oshkosh Corp.'s efforts to offset declining truck orders from the U.S. military with sales to overseas armies received a boost Thursday with an order for 750 armored patrol trucks from the United Arab Emirates... The UAE's order represents the first time Oshkosh will supply its mine-resistant, ambush-protected all-terrain vehicles, or M-ATVs, to a foreign military...

Richmond,VA,USA -Windsor Star, by Douglas Quan -July 21, 2012: -- William Whyte the Canadian man who entered into a multi-milliondollar contract to supply the U.S. Defense Department with 32 armoured gun trucks to protect VIPs in Iraq, he only delivered seven - and none of them met the bullet-and blastprotecting requirements, according to a federal grand jury indictment handed down this week in Virginia... Federal prosecutors announced that Whyte, 67, president of Ontario-based Armet Armored Vehicles, and his company have been charged with three counts of major fraud against the United States, seven counts of wire fraud and three counts of false, fictitious and fraudulent claims ... The money was diverted for "other business and personal expenditures," the indictment says, none of the trucks delivered met the required specifications. The vehicles also supposed to be equipped with special tires that could withstand punctures, the first five vehicles did not have such tires...
