* Canada - Innovative walking floor trailer to debut at Tip-Ex 

Lachine,QC,Canada -Transport Engineer -23 April 2012: -- At this year's Harrogate Tip-Ex show, at the end of May, trailer manufacturer Martrans will show its latest design of 11m walking floor trailer, said to incorporate additional features to improve performance... Innovative walking floor trailer to debut at Tip ExFirst shown at Tip-Ex last year, the Martrans walking floor trailer now features the Keith-designed 'Clean Sweep' system, which cleans the interior trailer floor following discharge of the load... Other features include a revised rear door design, which provides increased clearance, claimed to provide for easier discharge, as well as modified safety kit that allow operators to bypass the automatic system more easily, if required...


* UK - Elddis Transport demos UK's biggest curtainsider at Multimodal 

Consett,Durham,UK -Commercial Motor, by Chris Druce -1 May 2012: -- Elddis Transport is showcasing “the biggest curtainsider trailer in the UK” at this week’s Multimodal show, ahead of its operational debut later this month... The Lawrence David engineered high-cube trailer, which is based on an SDC chassis, is part of the Department for Transport’s longer semi-trailer trial... The 15.65m, single deck long-trailer was collected from Lawrence David’s Peterborough facility last Friday by Elddis MD Nigel Cook... Long estimates the trailer will cover 350,000km to 400,000km a year, and compared with a 13.6m high-cube trailer carrying 52 pallets on a load it will save around 250,000kg of C0² emissions a year...
