* China - GM says China sales hit record high for February

Shanghai,SH,China -AFP/Google News -6 March 2012: -- US auto giant General Motors said Tuesday it sold 240,554 vehicles in China in February, a record for the month and up more than 30 percent on the year, despite an overall slowdown in the Chinese market... The number of cars and trucks that GM sold was also the third highest number for any month in the company's history in China, according to the statement... GM sold 487,208 vehicles in China in the first two months of this year, up 7.7 percent from the same period last year, the statement said...* Germany - MAN to Adopt ‘Platform’ Strategy for Trucks,
Frankfurt,Germany -FT Deutschland Says/Bloomberg, by Richard Weiss - Mar 7, 2012: -- MAN SE, a German truckmaker controlled by Volkswagen AG, will adopt a “platform,” or modular, strategy for trucks similar to the way VW builds passenger cars... The strategy is aimed at getting a head start over Scania AB, which may cooperate more closely with MAN once Leif Oestling, its chief executive officer, retires in 2015, the newspaper said...
