* Germany - VW Truck Strategy Focuses On Procurement, Technical Projects

Wofsburg,Germany -Dow Jones/Fox Business -March 12, 2012: -- Volkswagen AG said Monday that to foster cooperation between its Swedish Scania AB truck brand and truck and engine maker MAN SE, it is focusing on common strategies in procurement and technical projects such as powertrains and production... Volkswagen acquired a majority stake in MAN in November, and is targeting closer cooperation with Scania to forge a European truck business that can take on global market leaders Daimler AG and Volvo AB. Volkswagen holds a 55.9% voting stake in Munich-based MAN and 53.71% of its share capital. It also holds a majority stake in Scania... According to previous statements, VW is aiming for initial cost synergies of at least EUR200 million a year and significantly higher savings in the long run...

Guelph,ONT,CAN -The Globe and Mail/CTV, by Greg Keenan -11 March 2012: -- In an unremarkable industrial park in Guelph, Ont., sits what Bruce Murray calls Ontario’s best kept secret – if it’s possible that eight-metre-high orange trucks that can haul more than 300 tons of earth can be hidden... Mr. Murray is the executive vice-president of Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing Ltd., a company that is doing something rare in the battered heartland of Canadian manufacturing: growing. The global giant is expanding its Canadian operation by more than doubling the size of its work force in Guelph, and boosting its output of giant mining trucks by almost 100 per cent... A key reason for expanding here rather than in Mexico or another location with lower labour costs is equally unusual: the presence of a skilled and veteran work force at the plant, which Hitachi purchased in 2000...

Currently the market is dominated by CIMC, Zhenjiang Feichi Auto, Henan Icebear, and Henan Hongyu, and these makers all have more than ten years of making refrigerators and their annual output are about 2,000 to 3,000 units, and 70% shares... The current refrigerator trucks makers have clear advantages over other makers for their famous brands and controls of quality of the trucks as well as technology advantages... It is learned that FAW, Dongfeng and Beiqi Foton are making development plan for refrigerator trucks for the net profits and prosperious outlook...
