'Zero tolerance' * UK - Drink-drive limit for Northern Irish HGV drivers

Northern Ireland’s Department of the Environment has announced its intention to lower the blood alcohol limit to just 20mg/100 ml for all commercial vehicle drivers, effectively ushering in a zo tolerance policy for drink driving... It comes as part of a move that will see the drink-drive limit for the general population reduced from its current 80mg to 50mg/100 ml, bringing it in line with the bulk of Continental Europe... Under the changes young or inexperienced drivers will also be governed by the new 20mg limit, which is the current limit for drivers in Norway and Sweden ... In mainland Britain the drink-drive limit remains 80mg/100 ml often likened to two medium strength pints of beer for the average adult...
