"Headache Rack" * USA - Why You Should Have One

USA -Megapremium, by Sharon Taylor -12 Sept 2010: -- The term ‘headache rack’ if from the trucking industry and refers to the bulkhead at the front of a flat bed trailer, which is where load securing chains were kept along with other tools that were notorious for being in the way of a human head... One of the benefits of a these racks is helping to protect your rear window from parts of the load smashing through. So, this isn’t the time to cut corners and try to save money, or for a better look... Tubular steel, plate steel and bar steel are the best metals to use in construction because they are strong enough to withstand most loads you could haul. Anything thinner will simply not withstand the rigors of load securing and stresses of hauling. So, you want the best so you do not have to replace the glass in the rear window of your truck... Headache racks can also be used for mounting KC lights when there is a need to be able to achieve better visibility. And if you have a tool box that needs to be secured, then it will be well anchored by installing it to make use of the supports for the headache rack. There are many reasons to install one of these units... (Photo from hankstruckpictures: A midwest forestree lowboy truck back after getting lettering fenders lights and headache rack)
