SAFETY PROGRAM * Canada - One That Pays

Yanke driver wins Ford F-150 as part of safety program

Saskatoon,SASK,Canada -Truck News. by James Menzies -Jul 5, 2010: -- Need proof that effective safety programs pay big dividends? Look no further than Yanke Group, which implemented a creative 'Be the One' safety program last year. It consisted of safety meetings, online safety videos, seminars and presentations. Nothing particularly extraordinary about that. But what is extraordinary is that 468 drivers participated in all facets of the program, qualifying them for prizes including six monthly draws for home furnishing packages worth five grand each... The grand prize consisted of a new pickup truck worth up to $50,000. The truck, a Ford F-150, was awarded to long-time driver Brian 'Huggy' Halabura. How could Yanke afford to give away $80K in prizes at a time like this? It reduced its accident-related costs by nearly 50% compared to the previous fiscal year...
