Transport Jobs *Australia - Down as fuel costs rise
Sydney,NSW,Australia -Supply Chain Review -January 20, 2010: -- Transport jobs have decreased by 7.3 percent in January despite the overall percentage of jobs in Australia rising by 1.54 percent... The Olivier Job Index Australian Market Report published every month says the drop in employment in the transport sector is due to rising fuel costs... “The relatively small sector of transport has been hit this month with a decrease of 7.3 percent,” Olivier Director John Olivier says... “It is likely that the rising fuel costs and the promise of further price hikes could be causing businesses in this area to tighten their belts”...
