FUEL NEWS * France - Sources Say World’s Remaining Oil Supply Less Than Reported

International Energy Agency has purposely painted overly rosy picture of remaining oil supply to avoid public panic

Paris,France -Automotive Digest (UK) -November 13, 2009: -- Inaccurate oil supply has been result of heavy pressure from United States... Many inside IEA believe maintaining oil supplies at 90M to 95M barrels a day would be impossible... But there are fears panic could spread on financial markets if figures brought down... Sources say Americans worry it would threaten their power over access to oil resources... IEA plays key role in determining world's energy outlook; has large influence on oil price and demand... Many of world's largest governments have used IEA reports as basis for driving energy, environmental policy... Heart of the issue is looming question of peak oil... Whether or not we've already entered production decline. Or if world can still increase oil production to meet demand into near future... IEA has consistently said world can increase production through at least 2030... Whistleblower: IEA has held back analysis, data showing world may have already entered decline phase of peak oil...


* UK - Free biodiesel for fleets in CO2Sense Yorkshire vegetable oil trial

Yorkshire,UK -Fleet News, by Gareth Roberts -17 November 2009: -- CO2Sense Yorkshire has announced it is backing a demonstration project for a recycled fuel oil that it claims could cut the cost of transport for the region’s businesses and reduce carbon emissions... CO2Sense Yorkshire, a not-for-profit company funded by Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund, is supporting trials that will investigate the commercial viability of using waste vegetable oil collected and processed in Yorkshire and Humber to fuel cars, trucks and buses... Businesses volunteering to take part in the project will receive 3,000 litres of 100% waste vegetable oil biodiesel fuel free of charge. Vehicles using the biodiesel fuel will be monitored between December 2009 and February 2010 and records of their performance will be used to further develop recycled oil services...
