TRUCKMAKERS' NEWS * Australia - Bourkes Transport says its four Hino trucks have clocked two million kilometres
Taren Point,NSW,Australia -Earthmoving News, by Cameron Boggs -17 November 2009: -- HINO Australia says four original-condition HINO trucks have each racked up over two million kilometres for newspaper delivery business, Bourkes Transport Industries... Bourkes Transport says one of its oldest trucks is a HINO FD Ranger 6 Turbo purchased in 2003, which is estimated to have travelled over 2.5 million kilometres and is still in service... Irrespective of the high mileage, the company sees no need to move it on at the moment, with the decision to keep it working for another six to 12 months and then look at retiring it... HINO says Bourkes Transport recently purchased three new HINO FD 500s, a 1024, a GD 1227 and an FC 1018, which are part of its recent business expansion into Queensland, with a new depot at Tweed Heads...
