Illegal Restrictions * USA - Boston’s hazmat (FMCSA)
Boston,MASS,USA -Land Line Magazine -November 16, 2009: -- Restrictions that the city of Boston has placed on hazmat haulers are illegal according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration... Several years ago, the city informed hazmat haulers that unless they were actually delivering inside the city limits, they were outlawed during the daytime. So, hazmat trucks that were driving through the city to get to another destination could travel through Boston only at night... The FMCSA has informed the city that that’s illegal because all it does is shift the risk of a spill or explosion to other cities in the area that the trucks use to bypass Boston...
