MDOT Inspects 18-Wheelers For Safety Violations
Madison,MISS,USA -16abc WARTV -September 22, 2009: -- Bad brakes, sleepy drivers and a tough economy are all coming together in the cabs of 18 wheelers. Every year, about 8 million trucks pass through Mississippi and millions have serious safety issues, transportation officials said... The driver of this 18-wheeler told police that she fell asleep before crashing into a vehicle, killing a family of four... Safety officials said that puts them on a collision course for disaster... MDOT put 15 trucks out of service during the recent operation, officials said. MDOT said the operations will continue throughout the state. They hope they won’t only catch violators, but deter truck drivers who break the law from driving through Mississippi... Labels: trucks inspections
