Fiat bringing Iveco trucks stateside

Torino,Italy -Autoblog, by Noah Joseph/Mopar Muscle -2 Sept 2009: -- The Fiat group seems to be on a ceaseless campaign to bring its products to the U.S. market... Fiat CEO, Sergio Marchionne, has announced plans to bring the group's heavy truck subsidiary Iveco to the American market. But while the 500 and Alfas may take a while to make the trip, Marchionne has a much tighter time-frame in mind for Iveco, declaring that they company "will have something done within six to nine months." That Iveco is working on such a strategy is a given, but whether or not it will be ready by January remains to be seen. As will be the willingness of the existing MB USA network to pony up a reputed $50,000 a time to take on the LCV franchise...

Once again, the Volvo VN proved itself the first choice of professional drivers, as more than three-quarters of the top drivers at (NTDC) drove Volvo VNs to podium finishes... Volvo VNs were driven by 16 out of 21 top three finishers in seven categories where Volvo VNs were available, including six first-place finishes. Competitors choose which make of truck they compete in, even if it isn’t the same brand they drive for work.
