* USA - Daimler says Cummins ISX option 9Gs more
Portland,ORE,USA -Today's Trucking (CAN) -3 Sept 2009: -- Daimler Trucks North America says its Cummins big-bore ISX15 engine offering will have an added emissions surcharge of $9,000 per vehicles... Daimler recently announced that its Detroit Diesel BlueTec option for heavy-duty engines will have the same surcharge... A surcharge of $7,300 will be added to vehicles equipped with the Cummins ISC8.3 engine, and a $6,700 surcharge will be added to the price of vehicles equipped with Cummins ISB6.7 engines... * UK - Grande Punto vans for E.ON
Düsseldorf,Germany -HGV UK -September 3, 2009: -- Leading power company E.ON, which earlier this year took delivery of more than 100 new Fiat Grande Punto vans, has ordered a further 77 of the popular commercial vehicles... In April, 101 Grande Punto vans were supplied to E.ON’s meter reading division by Fiat Professional, Fiat UK’s commercial vehicle section... The original deal was designed to generate new savings in fuel, CO2 levels and cost of ownership, and that has clearly been a success, as this latest agreement proves...
* USA - Oshkosh Corp. division, Air Force sign $20M deal
Oshkosh,WIS,USA -Associated Press/FORBES -3 Sept 2009: -- The airport-related division of Oshkosh Corp. will provide 36 vehicles to the U.S. Air Force in a deal worth nearly $20 million... Oshkosh Airport Products Group said Thursday the vehicles will be deployed at Air Force bases around the world starting in January... The deal calls for 15 Striker vehicles, which are large firefighting trucks specially equipped to handle emergencies involving airports and aircraft... It also calls for 21 snow-clearing vehicles, which are huge trucks designed to remove snow from miles of runways. They can throw as much as 5,000 tons of snow per hour... * USA - Mack Trucks opens new headquarters
Greensboto,NC,USA -The Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area -September 3, 2009: -- Mack Trucks Inc.’s new Greensboro headquarters is now open and operating... Employees of the heavy-duty truck maker began moving in August, after months of renovations at its 60,000-square-foot Airpark West office park building, said spokesman John Walsh... The building is not far from the headquarters for its sister company, Volvo Trucks North America... Mack’s jobs are expected to pay an average of $73,800, not including benefits.
