* Ireland - Hauliers comply with HGV ban
Dublin,Ireland -HGV Ireland -20 Sept 2009: -- The Irish Road Haulage Association has scotched suggestions that five-axle trucks are flouting the HGV ban in Dublin city centre... Dublin City Councillor suggested last week that many truck drivers were still not fully compliant with the ban, which was brought into effect on February 2007... Concillor, Andrew Montague, so he believed that the HGV ban was being flouted and called on Gardai to increase enforcement in the city... * Canada - MTAs GrEEEn program launches second phase
Winnipeg,MAN,CAN -Truck News -18 Sept 2009: -- The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) is now accepting applications for the second phase of its GrEEEn (Economic, and Environmentally Efficient) Trucking Program... The program offers incentives on green technologies, such as low rolling resistance tires, aerodynamic tractors and trailers, trailer side skirts, auxiliary power units, and tractor-trailer gap fairings... Participants are required to invest a minimum of $2,000 in technologies to be eligible for rebates.
