Brussels,Belgium -HGV UK -September 7, 2009: -- The IRU Permanent Delegation to the EU just released the road transport industry’s EU Manifesto entitled “Europe needs road transport”, to raise MEPs’ awareness of forthcoming transport policy challenges at EU level... Addressing the pivotal role of road transport in key areas, such as economic growth, employment, road safety, the EU transport system as a whole and sustainable mobility, the IRU Manifesto highlights the sector’s achievements and concerns while providing concrete policy recommendations to competent EU authorities...
* Ireland - New EU directive for truck and bus drivers
Dublin,Ireland -HGV Ireland -6 Sept 2009: -- If you are a professional bus or truck driver you will now have to undertake one day's training per year under a new Driver CPC EU Directive... This Directive came into effect for mini-bus and bus drivers from 10th Sept. 2008 and comes into effect on 10th September 2009 for truck drivers... Hgvireland.com sought the opinions of one of Ireland's leading specialists in the field to find out more about the Directive...
