The California Air Resources Board has kept its administrative fine department busy in recent months

The air quality agency has doled out hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines this summer, including $115,000 for two California companies that allegedly didn’t perform emissions inspections on their diesel fleets... CARB recently fined Dateland Construction Co. of Coachella Valley nearly $32,000 for failing to properly inspect diesel trucks in 2007 and 2008... In July, CARB fined Anaheim Trucking $85,000 for “neglecting to install proper emission-reduction devices”... The agency recently fined paint and coatings firm Valspar Corp. $218,000 for supplying three consumer product lines that exceeded the state’s standards for “volatile organic compounds...
