* India - Volvo Trucks bags order for 125 vehicles
Hyderabad,India -Sify Business -4 July 2009: -- Volvo Trucks in India has secured an order for 125 trucks, which is its biggest order since it was established in the country 10 years ago... A press statement from Volvo Trucks said the Hyderabad-based Vijay Leasing Company has placed an order for 125 Volvo FM trucks... These trucks will be for use in coal and steel mines in southern India. Vijay Leasing already owns 108 Volvo trucks... Volvo has over 55 customers in the country and has so far sold 5,500 trucks in India, which is the world's fourth largest truck market. * USA - Fire truck maker lands $10M U.S. Navy order
Menasha,WIS,USA -The Post-Crescent -July 2, 2009: -- Pierce Manufacturing today announced the reception of a new order for 29 Contender fire pumper trucks for the U.S. Navy... The contract, valued at $10.3 million, is in addition to a recent separate order for two Pierce Velocity HAZMAT vehicles, the Oshkosh Corp. subsidiary said... The 31 vehicles will be deployed at Naval bases in the U.S. and around the world beginning in early 2010... Pierce employs about 1,750 people at manufacturing facilities here and in Grand Chute...
