* Germany - MAN Chief Is ‘Positive’ on Growth as Truck Market Bottoms Out

Munich,Germany -Bloomberg, by Aaron Kirchfeld & Andreas Cremer -July 3, 2009: -- MAN SE’s truckmaking business, Europe’s third-biggest, probably broke even in the second quarter as the market for commercial vehicles showed signs of recovery, Chief Executive Officer Hakan Samuelsson said... “We have reached the bottom” of the recession’s effects on truck sales, Samuelsson said in an interview in Berlin. “We are quite sure and positive on long-time transport demand”... The truckmaking division’s second-quarter earnings will about match the break-even result of the first three months of the year, Samuelsson said, reiterating earlier comments. * Germany - Truckmaker Exports to Stabilize in Second Half, VDA Says

Frankfurt,Germany -Bloomberg, by Cornelius Rahn -July 2 , 2009: -- German truckmakers are facing a “dramatic” market decline, as heavy-vehicle exports dropped 69 percent and slid 33 percent domestically, the country’s main carmakers trade group said... Truck markets abroad are likely to stabilize at a “low level,” Matthias Wissmann, president of the German carmakers association, or VDA, said today at a Frankfurt news conference...


* Turkey - Anadolu Isuzu Will Halt Vehicle Production Citing Lack of Demand

Istanbul,Turkey -Bloomberg, by Seda Sezer -July 3, 2009: -- Anadolu Isuzu Otomotiv Sanayi & Ticaret AS, the maker of trucks and buses for Isuzu Motors Ltd., will halt production at its factory in Turkey...
