Canberra,Australia -ABC News -Jul 8, 2009: -- The Transport Workers Union (TWU) says too many truck drivers are being forced to work dangerously long hours and drive unsafe vehicles... The union is again calling for the trucking industry to increase rates of pay for drivers... Protesters today rallied outside the National Press Club in Canberra during an address by Australian Trucking Association chief executive Stuart St Clair... TWU secretary Tony Sheldon says drivers are being put under too much pressure by transport companies and it is resulting in accidents...
