TOLL CUTS * Ireland - IRHA calls for, on M50

The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has called on the Government to reduce the cost to hauliers using the M50 motorway

Dublin,Ireland -HGV -8 July 2009: -- IRHA president Vincent Caulfield commented: ... "The increased costs involved are creating financial strain on many small haulage operators. Most operators are paying huge toll costs per month in addition to already paying increased road tax, fuel costs, income tax and insurance. We provide vital services to an economy which is dependent on road transport for the movement of over 95 per cent of freight and yet the Government refuses to recognise the pressure on our industry to meet these additional costs"... "Toll operators might make a greater return if they entered into commercial agreements with bodies such as the IRHA," he concluded... (Image from wikipedia: M50 motorway Ireland)
