Cell Phone Regs * USA - Approved for Texas trucking
Houston,TX,USA -Examiner/Houston Truck Industry Examiner, by Mary Davis -July 25, 2009: -- Changes to regulations for drivers idling engines while in sleeper berths and using cell phones are just some of the new mandates from this year's session of the Texas Legislature, according to information from the Texas Motor Transportation Association (TMTA)... John Esparza, president and chief executive officer of TMTA, said, "Five of the most significant alterations impacting drivers are changes to sleeper berth idling, no longer allowing cell phone use in a school zone, rules regarding post office box use for receiving CDLs (commercial driver licenses), a lifetime ban on a CDL due to an offense involving transportation of an illegal alien, and state and employer notification of a conviction of a motor vehicle traffic violation"...
