Traffic Congestion *- Viet Nam - Dogs southern port
Ho Chi Minh City,VietNam -VNBusinessNews -Jul 25, 2009: -- Ho Chi Minh City’s infamous traffic congestion is creating problems at Cat Lai Port, the city’s busiest port. For the last three days, the two-lane Highway 25B that leads to the port has been at a virtual standstill, with little cargo able to be loaded and unloaded at the port... The poor condition of road and a slight increase in cargo transport are contributing to the blockage, said Ngo Minh Thuan, deputy director of port manager Tan Cang Saigon Company... Thuan said the traffic congestion on the highway has been steadily worsening for the past few weeks, affecting the operations of the port, which carries about 85 percent of the cargo shipped into and out of HCMC... To resolve the traffic problem, port authorities are planning to send rescue vehicles and police to improve the flow traffic along Highway 25B, he said...
