Barr-Nunn gets top EPA SmartWay designation
Granger,IOW,USA -Fleet Owner -Jun 3, 2009: -- Truckload carrier Barr-Nunn Transportation, which joined the Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay Transport Partnership program in 2006, has announced it has received a 1.25 rating-- the highest possible under the program... The SmartWay program is a collaborative effort between EPA and the freight sector designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions, and improve energy security. Participating companies set goals to reduce their carbon footprint... Barr-Nunn set and met idling reduction goals, embarked on truck and trailer aerodynamic upgrades, improved pickup & delivery scheduling, and upgraded tires among other changes, the company said...
