TRUCKER'S STORY * USA - Area college gets 'big rig' thank you
Springfield,OH,USA -The Dayton Daily News, by John Nolan -June 17, 2009: -- Kevin Burch, president of Dayton-based trucking company Jet Express Inc., completed a training course last summer at Clark State Community College to obtain his commercial trucker’s driving license... Burch, who is a spokesman for the trucking industry as chairman of the Truckload Carriers Association, said he needed to obtain the driver’s license to understand the day-to-day operating concerns a driver faces... As a thank you for the training, Burch and Jet Express on Wednesday, June 17, donated to Clark State a used tractor – the pulling half of a tractor-trailer hauling combination. The tractor, a 1992 GMC vehicle, was worth $36,000 when purchased. It has more than 600,000 road miles on it but has been regularly maintained by Jet Express, Burch said...
