Infrastructure * Australia - NSW government invests in

Sydney,Australia -Logistics -17 June 2009: -- The NSW Government will invest more than $450 million improving and upgrading port-related infrastructure, supporting jobs and the economic growth of NSW... Ports and Waterways Minister, Joe Tripodi, says another $262.6 million will be invested by Sydney Ports Corporation on the Port Botany Expansion Project, with the on-going construction of a new 60 hectare container terminal underpinning more than 500 jobs... Mr Tripodi says Sydney Ports expects to begin construction of a second bulk liquids berth at Port Botany, with $14.9 million to be spent in 2009/10... Mr Tripodi says the State Budget is complimented by Federal spending on port related infrastructure, including $42 million for rail links between Port Botany and Northern Line and a commitment of $840 million for freight rail upgrades between Sydney and Newcastle...
