* USA - FedEx Reports $876 Million 4Q Loss - Fiscal Year Profit Falls 91%
Memphis,TENN,USA -Transport Topics -17 June 2009: -- FedEx Corp. said Wednesday it lost $876 million in its fiscal fourth quarter, due largely to one-time charges totaling $1.2 billion... Revenue totaled $7.85 billion, down 20% from the previous year... FedEx said earlier this month that it would report $1.2 billion in charges for its fourth quarter. Among those charges were $885 million related to its acquisitions of Kinko's Inc. and Watkins Motor Line, Bloomberg reported... In a June 3 filing, company blamed the decline in financial performance of the assets on “weak economic conditions.”...

Miami,FL,USA -Transport Topics -17 June 2009: -- Ryder System said that it had reached an agreement with Intelligent Global Pooling Systems to manage the flow of plastic pallets... iGPS builds and manages a pool of lightweight plastic pallets embedded with radio frequency identification to allow for easier tracking of shipments, Ryder said last week... Ryder, Miami, does business in full-service truck leasing, dedicated contract carriage and third-party logistics... Ryder said it had signed a multiyear contract with iGPS, Orlando, Fla., to provide logistics services to manage the flow of up to 175 million pallets each year...
* USA - Schneider National expands fuel-hauling service capabilities
