* Sweden - Volvo's Never-Ending Sales Spiral

Stockholm,Sweden -Forbes (USA), by Javier Espinoza -20 May 2009: -- The truck maker says April sales plunged for the eighth consecutive month - expect more declines to come... Volvo is in a deep hole and can't get out. April marked the eigth consecutive monthly decline in sales at the Swedish truck maker that has been trying to wring out cost-savings by cutting around 21,000 jobs since the start of last year... The truck maker said it delivered 9,196 trucks in the month, down 63% from 24,616 in April last year, and marking a steeper decline than the 51% annual fall in the first quarter of 2009. * India - Tata Motors Surges to 8-Month High on Debenture Plan

Mumbai,India -Bloomberg, by Vipin V. Nair -May 20, 2009: -- Tata Motors Ltd., India’s largest truckmaker, rose to the highest in almost eight months in Mumbai after a credit rating company said the automaker plans to sell 42 billion rupees ($879 million) of debentures... The company, aiming to refinance a bridge loan taken to buy Jaguar and Land Rover, plans to issue the debentures in four tranches, Crisil Ltd. said in a statement dated yesterday on its Web site. The proposal eases concerns about fundraising for the Mumbai-based company, said Amish Shah, a Mumbai-based analyst...
