Losing Jobs * Northern Ireland / UK - Hauliers left to carry the can
Belfast,N.I.,UK -HGV -20 May 2009: -- Northern Ireland's haulage industry is haemorrhaging jobs as result of the global recession, the Northern Ireland Exporters Association (NIEA) has revealed... The NIEA, the representative body for many of Northern Ireland's export companies, has expressed its concern over new Department for Transport statistics, which show the exact state of the haulage industry... "The haulage and logistics industry is crucial to cost effective exporting. Other industries have been supported by Government, but the haulage industry has been left to carry the can," an NIEA spokesman commented...
