* USA - Inventors could bring new concept to Southern Utah
St.George,UT,USA -The Spectrum, by SCOTT KERBS -January 19, 2009: -- The minds behind Efficient Fueling Systems were awarded the top prize in the Southern Utah Concept to Company Contest at the Washington County Economic Summit on Wednesday, and local economic development leaders said they expect the budding technology company to strengthen the local economy... The CoolCab, an alternative cooling system designed for use in the trucking industry, earned creators Jared Loosli and Bill Gordon $10,000 in cash and an additional $10,000 in services from local economic development organizations, as their concept was selected from a pool of approximately 70 prospective entrepreneurs in Southern Utah... Loosli said his product cuts costs as truck drivers often rest or sleep in their trucks, requiring them to run the engine and burn fuel to keep the cab air conditioned while stationary, but the CoolCab allows drivers to maintain a temperate climate without idling the engine, pumping air from refrigerated trailers typically used to transport perishable goods... The CoolCab offers substantial fuel cost savings of approximately $2,000 per truck each year, Loosli said, as an idling truck consumes approximately one gallon of gas per hour... As the owners of MG Trucklines in St. George, Loosli said he and Gordon began working on the CoolCab to help cut fuel costs within their fleet of 21 trucks...

When it launched last year, Oil Drum caught hauliers’ attention by claiming to be able to reduce their diesel consumption and exhaust emissions at the height of the rise in fuel prices. Its bolt-on device mixes hydrogen with air and diesel in a vehicle engine that creates a cleaner, more efficient combustion process...
