Toronto,ONT,CAN -Truck News -2 Dec 2008: -- Ontario has announced it will immediately begin requiring commercial vehicle operators to renew their CVORs every year... The Ministry of Transportation says this will better allow the province to monitor trucking companies’ safety performances, according to a release... The province is establishing an education program to help communicate the new requirements for trucking companies. About 5,000 new companies will be required to complete the program each year, the province announced...
* CTA seeks weight, length concessions
ONT,CAN -Land Line Magazine -December 1, 2008: -- The Canadian Trucking Alliance is asking for weight and length variances on trucks with certain anti-idling or aerodynamic devices... Truck News reported that the CTA has asked federal officials for an extra 1,000-pound allowance to cover APUs, trailer skirts and moose bumpers... It’s also seeking a length variance for boat tails...
