* Uzbekistan - Demonopolization Com Analyzes Int'l Cargo Transport MKT
Tashkent,Uzbekistan -Asia Pulse/UzReport.com -Nov 5, 2008: -- Uzbekistan's State Demonoplization Committee and its territorial divisions have analyzed international cargo transportation market... The committee revealed several problems of legal and procedural character, which are limiting effective functioning of the market... In particular, the motor transport fleets of local transporters are old. About 97 per cent of motor transports were produced over 15 years ago. Large number of lorries are used in internal market, but only 600 trucks registered to carry out international transportation... Customs clearance (duties, VAT, road tax) increases cost of trucks by 60-70 per cent. The committee said that there is no customs clearance in neighbouring states, which are competitors of the Uzbek companies. The access to foreign cargo transportation markets is not effectively regulated...
