Logistic News * Viet Nam - HCM City ports to face increased traffic
HCM City,Vietnam -The Viet Nam News (Hanoi,VTNM) -4 Oct 2008: -- Ports in HCM City are likely to face a logjam as exporters will hereafter have to transport their cargo straight to the ports rather than to inland container depots (ICD) like they have been doing until now... The companies are also apprehensive about the additional cost of transporting their goods to the ports by road... In reality, the Ministry of Finance passed an order prohibiting ICDs from doing customs formalities as far back as 2005... But the city Customs Department sought to delay implementation of the order until October 1 this year to await further instructions from authorities...
