INFRASTRUCTURES' FUNDS * USA - New State Panel to Study Privatizing Public Assets
New York,NY,USA -The New York Times, by Danny Hakim -1 Oct 2008: -- New York Gov. David Paterson has announced plans to form a commission to evaluate the possibility of privatizing public assets, including infrastructure, in a bid to raise capital that the state would otherwise lack in the event of further economic difficulties. "Public-private partnerships are not the only answer, but we need to honestly assess whether they can be part of the solution," said the governor in a statement. The Paterson administration said recently that it would consider some form of private partnership in a multibillion effort to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge. ..
